About us

Vision & Mission

Kingsway Community Connections is a community anchor organisation, registered as a Scottish charity and as a Company Limited by Guarantee. We are a community development centre set up by local people, for local people to help improve the quality of our life and our community.

Our Vision is one of a Proud, Capable and Confident multicultural community.

Our Mission is to build social capital within the community. That is, we believe increasing people’s confidence, esteem, sense of connectedness and belonging is likely to be the most effective contribution our organisation can make to addressing health inequalities and improving health and wellbeing within the community.

Our purpose is to enable the residents of Kingsway Court and surrounding area, who experience disadvantage, inequity and poor health, to proactively participate in the delivery of the changes necessary to improve their health and wellbeing, by developing and delivering services, activities and events through strong and active partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies in pursuit of equal opportunity, personal growth and stable secure and vibrant community.

The Centre was established as a community anchor organisation situated at the heart of 3 highly deprived SIMD zones, which converge in Kingsway Court.

Our area hosts many nationalities, with different experiences, backgrounds and in some cases, complex barriers to participation. A constant thread throughout the Centre’s work is to promote integration and cultural harmony through developing understanding, tolerance and respect. Our groupwork and open-door policy fosters these positive relationships through visual diversity and representation.
