Kingsway Community Connections (KCC) is a community anchor organisation based in Scotstoun, Glasgow. We are rooted in relationships, built on trust, and driven by the needs and strengths of our local community. Our work brings people together to feel safe, connected, and capable of shaping positive change in their own lives.

Scotstoun was historically shaped by industry, particularly shipbuilding and manufacturing. As jobs declined and public services were scaled back over the decades, many residents experienced increasing levels of poverty, isolation, and inequality. Despite this, a strong sense of community identity endured, along with a deep culture of local organising, and mutual support.

The Centre originally gained charitable status as the Kingsway Court Community Centre in November 2000. It was established as a community-led anchor organisation supported by the Dumbarton Road Corridor Smaller Area Social Inclusion Partnership in 2001.

The area is noted to be one of Scotland’s most deprived, with significant and long-standing health inequalities.  Many of its residents’ experience high levels of disadvantage and exclusion.

Since 2001, the area has hosted many asylum seekers, refugees, and economic migrants.  There are many nationalities living in the area. Therefore, a constant thread throughout the Centre’s work has been the need to promote integration and racial harmony through developing understanding, tolerance, and respect.
